STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 9TH AUGUST 2022

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League. Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance on the night as 'Quatford Windows' were not present for their fixture. As this is the second time the team has missed a game in the nine weeks they have played the league has made the decision to remove the team from the league, although this does open up a space it allows a more reliable team to take there space. It is paramount that teams are there for there fixtures each and every week and if not possible contact the Area Manager to ensure the league can run as smoothly as possible each and every week.

Another thing for all teams to note following Tuesday's games is that we had complaint from the centre in regards to cigarette butts being found on the middle of the pitch following the night. The 3G pitch is a non-smoking area and anyone found doing this will be asked to leave the venue as it violates the terms and conditions of using the pitch and therefore may cost us the booking moving forward so please take note of this when getting to the league this week.

In more positive news, game of the evening for the Premier League saw 'Oaks Ay We' take on champions '50 Shades Of O'Shea' in an encounter that saw the final score result in a 2-2 draw where neither side could break the deadlock in an enticing game where both sides evenly both in attack and defence. This result means that '50 Shades Of O'Shea' have now dropped there first point of the season and go into the final game of the season facing the second placed finished team 'Rare FC' wanting to bounce back. For 'Oaks Ay We' this is a great result to take into a season in Division One next season.

Next we pay a visit to Division 1 where we had an excellent set of fixtures which were difficult to choose the game of the week from. However, it was the 3-1 victory for 'Gangsters Allardyce' against a game 'FC Resonance' which came up trumps as both teams battled away terrifically well and it was played in such a positive manner. 'Gangsters Allardyce' go into the final game of the season needing at least a point in order to take the Division One title and will face second placed 'The Six Offenders' in the final game. Congratulations to both of these teams as they have been promoted to the Premier League following the results this week.

In Division 2 we also saw some exciting games to follow suit with the other leagues. Our game of the week was 'Murder On Zidane's Floors' 4-1 win against 'Yatesys VI' where both teams played excellently however it was a superb team effort that ensured the win. With one week to go four points splits the top three teams and second and third face each other in a chance to be promoted, who will come out on top.

Team of the week is 'OTR FC' as they put in an impressive display against 'Innocent Until Proven Gylfi'. A 3-0 win and with a game a to go they will be looking for a strong finish to the season in order to build for the next. Good luck to them and all teams in the final week of the season!

There is TWO SPACES available to join the league with a new EXTENDED SEASON due to start on Tuesday 23rd August 2022! Sign up today to take a space and be apart of the best leagues in your area!
