LEAGUE CANCELLED ON SUNDAY 28TH DECEMBER

PLEASE NOTE THE LEAGUE IS CANCELLED ON SUNDAY 28TH DECEMBER FOR THE CHRISTMAS BREAK.  WE RETURN AS PER FIXTURES ON SUNDAY 4TH JANUARY 2026 AND WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO WISH ALL TEAMS A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL AT LEISURE LEAGUES.

The Stroud Sunday 6-a-side football league kicked off in fantastic style last night as teams across the divisions competed in the season opener. The first week showed promising signs of what we can expect from the upcoming season.

In the Premier League, Sink Males FC started the season on a high note, with a solid 2-0 victory over Chiellini Con Carne. The game was marked by a disciplined defence and an effective attacking strategy that outplayed their rivals. Meanwhile, Sand FC and Randwick Warriors played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw - a true testament to the competitive nature of the league.

Standout player of the Premier League was Matti Laffort from Sand FC who managed to score the only goal for his team. Laffort showed a glimpse of his sharp shooting skills which we will surely be looking forward to in the coming weeks.

Turning our attention to Division 1, The Old Badgers came out strong against Blackandwhitearmy with a convincing 3-1 victory. They set a high standard for the rest of the division to follow. However, the highlight of the night came from Red Men FC's clash with Maradona Kebab. Despite a spirited performance from Red Men FC, they could not contain Maradona Kebab, who claimed a 4-1 win.

The star of Division 1 was undeniably Conal from Maradona Kebab, who scored an impressive total of 2 goals. His stunning display has surely caught the attention of the other teams in the division.

As we look forward to the next round of matches, it's clear this season promises fierce competition and thrilling football. It's all to play for in the Stroud Sunday 6-a-side football league.
