In a thrilling week of football, Retford Tuesday League saw its 13th week of the season unfold with some unexpected and riveting results from divisions 1 and 2.
In Division 1, Goosemoor emerged as winners with a narrow 1-0 score against AFC Booca. Despite a tightly contested match, AFC Booca left the field disappointed with their missed opportunities. However, the match of the evening had to be the nail-biting contest between Athletico Clumber and Farndon Sops. It was a nine-goal thriller that saw Athletico Clumber edge out Farndon Sops 5-4 in a game that was a testament to the sheer competitiveness of the league. Meanwhile, Mucky Brookey dominated the field with a resounding 12-1 victory over DEA Engineering, displaying a commendable offensive performance.
Moving on to Division 2, the evening began with The Babbi Brigade securing a 1-0 victory over Diabetico Madrid. The star performers of the division, however, were Norfolk N Chance who decimated WYMO FC with a convincing 6-1 win, demonstrating their firepower. UTM FC outplayed Backstreet Moyes with an 8-3 victory, while the game between Netsix N Chill and Raggamuffins United ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving both teams with points to ponder for their next encounter.
The top scorers were undoubtedly the teams of Mucky Brookey from Division 1 with their 12 goals, and Norfolk N Chance from Division 2 putting 6 past their opponents. Their performances have set a high standard for the rest of the season.
