TROWBRIDGE THURSDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE: WEEK 13 MATCH REPORTS
The 13th week of the Trowbridge Thursday 6-a-side Football League took place last night, with the Premier League division hosting a series of thrilling matches.
In the Premier League, the Six Offenders faced off against Short Back And Stompin in a nail-biting encounter which ended 3-2 in favour of the latter. Despite a valiant effort, the Six Offenders were unable to overcome the superior ball control and quick tempo set by their opponents.
In a stalemate of a match, McDons and Two Goals One Cup battled it out to a 0-0 draw. Despite frequent attempts on goal by both sides, a combination of strong defences and inaccurate shooting resulted in a match devoid of goals.
Smith United and Barely Athletic delivered an evenly contested match that ended in a 2-2 draw. Both teams demonstrated commendable team play and sportsmanship throughout the match.
The highlight of the night, however, was the encounter between the Pepe Pigs and Fossil FC. The Pigs demonstrated their class and dominated the match, romping to a 7-1 victory.
The top scorers for the division this week were from the victorious Pepe Pigs. Their high-octane performance saw them dominating the pitch, with their attacking line-up running rings around the opposition.
As the league moves into its midseason phase, the competition is heating up with each team refining its strategies and fighting for every point. The teams will return next week to battle it out, as they continue their quest for the elusive Trowbridge Thursday Premier League title.
