WEEKLY NEWS FOR 12th APRIL

Good morning everyone, 

Another fantastic night of football up at John of Gaunt school! Some great talent on display, some huge upsets and another contender for goal of the month!

Premier League
Newly promoted 6 Offenders have had a tremendous start to the season and continued this for beating previous champions Trow Utd 4 – 2 in a heated but competitive game, Ryan Martin awarded Man of the Match. Last season champions fell to their first defeat in nearly three seasons falling 3 – 1 to Bring Back Lloyds with Brad Arberry the stand out performer in this one! ABCDE FC recovered from their heavy defeat last week with a convincing 3 – 0 win over Shunt Gunk Utd, Nyasha Nnamo rightly awarded MVP for an outstanding performance. Bancoloana retain top spot after FC Fusion were unable to make kick off due to 11 a-side commitments! Thank you to Benbow’s Bruiser Boys who filled in from the Tuesday league to give them a competitive game! Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels edged past Wreckhead Rovers 2 – 1 to move to mid table with Alex Gullerford putting in a great display on the night.

Division 1
The first game of the evening in Division one turned out to be an epic clash! Ivory Toast running out 4 – 3 winners against a determined Class on Grass, Corey Tallentire putting in a superb performance in defence for Class on Grass. Tinchy Sneijder retained top spot in the division after holding McDons to a 0 – 0 draw credit to the McDons defence and keeper as Tinchy has 17 shots! Dixie Normous ran out 3 – 2 winners against Scoring like Sonogo with Dixie’s talisman Josh Thornton being awarded Man of the Match, even with Chris Gile’s scoring a wonder goal for Scoring like Sonogo! Keep your eye out for the footage of that one! Clash of the night goes to the game between Expected Toulouse & The Freshford Rejects which saw the away side snatch a 1 – 2 victory! Jordan Burrell MVP in this one. The final game of the evening saw Crips FC put in their best performance to date against Fossil FC but couldn’t quite walk away with a point! Falling 2 – 1 in the end after Steve Cade opened the scoring for Fossil. Wayne Richards proved to the difference in the game!

Other News

I would just like to welcome Jack Dixon and his team Blitz FC to our Tuesday division which starts in May, spaces are filling up fast so if you know anyone interested make sure you get them to join before it’s too late!

I will also be running a new unofficial “Fair Play” league with prizes such as team kits, footballs and much more on offer to the winners so keep an eye out for that over the coming week
