Sunday 14th January - Swadlincote Round-Up

It was a good opening week to the new season in the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance barring Road Worxs unfortunately.  As of now they have been removed from the league as they have failed to respond to our calls, this creates ONE VACANCY in the league for any interested teams, so sign up now to book this!

GAME 1: Barely Athletic 1-0 The Underdogs

The venue witnessed the best game of the day, providing entertainment for all spectators. Despite only one goal being scored by Tommy in the 7th minute, the match was packed with action from both sides. It marked the first victory of the season for last season's champions, Barely Athletic, who are determined to retain their title this campaign.

GAME 2: Murder on Zidane's Floor 6-1 Autismo Allstars

In their debut performance, Murder on Zidane's Floor displayed their potential as a title contender this season. The team surged ahead with four first-half goals (Sheene - 2', 5', Rhys - 9', Billy - 4'). Although the Autismo Allstars had their chances, they were unfortunate not to convert. Reece from Autismo scored early in the second half, but Murder on Zidane's Floor responded quickly with a goal from Billy in the same minute. Ethan sealed the game with a penalty in the closing seconds of the match, making the second half evenly contested.

GAME 3: Mother Munchers 5-0 Paralympiakos

Motivated by their previous defeat against Paralympiakos, the Mother Munchers took the game seriously and sought redemption. They dominated the first half with four goals (Brandon - 3', Sam - 6', Harleigh - 7', Max - 11'). The second half witnessed a spirited performance from Paralympiakos, who swapped their goalkeeper. However, Mother Munchers managed to score only one goal in the second half through Will in the 14th minute.
