Sunday 17th September - Swadlincote Round-Up

Here are the match results and reports for the Leisure Leagues Swadlincote Sunday 6-a-side league games on Sunday, September 17th. This was the final week of the campaign which drew to a close.

Game 1:

Villa Wycombe 1 - 5 Barely Athletic

In a very good game, Barely Athletic emerged victorious with a 5-1 scoreline. The Barely Athletic boys, led by goals from Hayden, Ken, Dan, and a double from Tommy, secured another 2 points. Tommy's performance also earned him a spot among the top three goal scorers of the season. Villa boys managed to find the net once, courtesy of Joe. Barely Athletic is sure to harbor title aspirations of their own in the upcoming season.

Game 2:

Underdogs 1 - 2 Budweiser FC

The best game of the evening showcased exceptional spirit and skills from both sides. Both defenses performed admirably throughout the match. Kieran put The Underdogs ahead with a goal (1:0), and they had a chance to make it 2:0, but Nathan's save prevented another goal. Luke, the goalkeeper for The Underdogs, made three fantastic saves, but he couldn't do much when Dylan from Budweiser FC leaped in the air to put the ball in the net, thanks to a great pass from the defender. The match remained very even until the end, and then Joe scored (2:1), securing a comeback win for BUDWEISER FC and securing their 2nd place in the season.

Game 3:

Paralympiakos 5 - 1 Autismo Allstars

The final game of the evening ended with a 5-1 victory for Paralympiakos, although the scoreline doesn't truly reflect the closely contested nature of the match. Autismo Allstars had their moments and were unfortunate to only score one goal, credited to Reece. Meanwhile, Jake and a double from Jakob and Tom ensured a win for PARALYMPIAKOS.

We extend our gratitude to all the teams for their unwavering commitment and reliability throughout the season. If any teams need to get in touch regarding their team or the league in general, please contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340 (Local Rate) or email [email protected].

Please note that the new season will kick off with a new addition to the league, 'Isn't It FC,' making their league debut this week. They replace the outgoing Multicultural FC, who have been removed as they looked to be far too unreliable and timewasters.

We wish all the teams good luck in game week 1 of the new campaign on Sunday, September 24th!
