Sunday 19th November - Swadlincote Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some superbly competed games played across the division.

GAME 1: Deportivo 0-0 Autismo Allstarz

In the highlight game, both teams delivered a great performance showcasing a wealth of skills and providing an excellent example of proper defending. Special mention to Luke (A.A.) who made vital saves at least half a dozen times. Despite the 0-0 scoreline, the match was far more entertaining than it suggests.

GAME 2: Budweiser 1-1 The Underdogs

In another significant match of the evening, featuring the winner and runner-up from the previous season, both sides demonstrated a high level of skill and faced tough challenges. Budweiser took the lead 5 minutes into the second half (Leeroy). Five minutes later, Will made an impact with his first touch after entering the pitch, scoring for The Underdogs and securing a 1-1 draw.

GAME 3: Barely Athletic 2-0 Paralympiakos

It wasn't an easy game for the top table leaders, Barely Athletic. Paralymiakos played well and attempted to level the score after Hayden's early goal (3'). However, no one could find the net after that. The keepers made some good saves, and both defenses were brilliant. Eventually, Tommy (25') found a way to secure the game, making it 2-0 right at the end.

Man of the Match: HAYDEN

GAME 4: Roadworxs 5-2 Isn't It FC

Roadworxs put in a solid performance in only their second game since joining, showcasing their football prowess. R.W. took the lead by scoring two goals in the 2nd minute (Harry, Slater). Then, magic skills from Adrian added another two goals (5', 12'). However, karma struck back, and Lukas managed to score twice in the 8th minute of the second half, one of them a fantastic 20-yard shot. Slater came to the aid and scored once more, setting the final result at 5-2. Roadworxs triumphed over Isn't It FC.
