Sunday 26th March - Swadlincote Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some well competed games played throughout the night.

Some huge results this week as the table begins to take shape after game week 4.  Deportivo De La Zouch are in unfamiliar territory as they lost their first league game since 19th June 2022, with an incredible 26 game winning run being brough to a halt!  They were beaten 2-0 by Budweiser FC who looked great value for the points as well, as they put in a professional performance to take the win.

Swads Unfittest now top the table after a 3-0 win over Paralympiakos this week, keeping their fourth clean sheet in a row as the new boys look a superb addition so far.  The same can be said for another reasonably new team in The Underdogs, as they were 1-0 winners again this week, their third win by that scoreline this season, as these two teams look impossible to break down so far!

At the other end of the table, Athletico De Swad picked up their first win of the campaign as they were 2-1 winners over Corona Rovers to end a three game losing streak prior to that.

It looks like being a competitive season ahead as all games are well competed on a weekly basis in this league.
