Sunday 5th February - Swadlincote Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, including new team The Underdogs who made their debut's with us this week, picking up a well earned 1-0 win over Corona Rovers on their opening fixture.

Leaders Deportivo De La Zouch gave their goal difference another boost as they sail to the title with three to play, a 7-2 thrashing of Paralympiakos means they need a single point from their final three games to seal the inevitable.

Budweiser FC stay in second place and moved two points clear of the team below them, this after they were comfortable 3-0 victors over Maradona Kebabs and Boom Xhakalaka found themselves on the end of a 3-2 reverse against Boom Xhakalaka, despite the winners goal leading a charmed life as Boom rattled the woodwork on three separate occasions!
