Sunday 7th May - Swadlincote Round-Up

Welcome to the match report of the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league at The Pingle Academy. We had three exciting games in game week 9 of the campaign, with only Lawnmower FC absent and set to return to action on Sunday 14th May.

The first match saw Corona Rovers take on Deportivo de La Zouch. Despite a valiant effort from Corona, Deportivo's Elliot stole the show with a fantastic performance, scoring four goals and securing a 5-2 victory for his team. It was certainly an entertaining game for the neutral, with both teams playing well.

In the second game, Athletico de Swad faced off against Swads Unfittest. In what was arguably the biggest surprise of the day, Swads Unfittest dominated the game but couldn't convert their chances. Athletico managed to hold on and secure a narrow 1-0 victory. Well played to Athletico for making the most of their opportunities.

Finally, The Underdogs took on Paralympiakos in what was an evenly matched game for most of the match. However, a double from Thomas helped secure a 3-1 victory for The Underdogs. Paralympiakos were unlucky not to get more from the game, but credit to The Underdogs for their clinical finishing.
