New Gainsborough Wednesday 6 a side season kicks off!

We were treated to a spectacle as the new season of the Gainsborough Wednesday 6-a-side Premier League kicked off last night. The exciting matches showcased some incredible footballing talent, with teams across the division leaving a lasting impression.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In a clash that promised high-octane action, Real Markham emerged as the star team in the Premier League, defeating Super6 with a commanding 7-1 victory. Their performance demonstrated their intent for the season, with the team displaying a combination of tactical prowess and clinical finishing that sets them apart from the competition.

Meanwhile, Lizzies Elite and Dads Army battled it out in a tightly contested match which ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams showcased a solid defensive structure and it was a match where neither team wanted to give an inch. The match served as a testament to the competitive nature of the Premier League, and it's clear that there’s everything to play for in the coming weeks.

The night saw another high-scoring match, with Barely Athletic proving their might against Foxy Red FC. In a thrilling encounter, Barely Athletic bagged a fantastic 6-3 win, signaling their strong start to the season.

While we're only at the inception of the season, it's evident that the competition will only heat up as the teams vie for the top spot in the Premier League. The leading scorers for the night were Real Markham and Barely Athletic, both with impressive hauls. Their performances have set the tone for the rest of the season.
