Another week and more teams join us!

Last week we expressed our appreciation to our teams for their patience in the league whilst we had spaces and we were asking them to play dreaded 'friendlies', which we are very aware just aren't as fun as a competitive league game. Well we can now announce that 'friendly' games are now finished and the league is all full up again!

Lets get into the excitement from Monday 16th...

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

We made the decision to award this weeks 'team of the week' to Sherborne  Masters. Now there is a good amount of history between these two teams, which of course will always make for an excellent game to watch, as we knew it would be extremely competitive and most likely very end to end. We know the form Athletico Pathetico are in currently and to be honest they look unbeatable with their 100% start to the season...step up Sherborne Masters! Im told by the referee that Sherborne were all over the league leaders and were 2-0 up for a majority of the game, which considering the difference in current form, is a pretty big achievement for them. Fortunately, James and his men managed to pull it back and salvage a 3-3 drew in the dying seconds of the game and at least cling onto a 'unbeaten' record and a 2 point cushion at the top of the table. As for Phil Case's team, the 1 point Is enough to give them a 2 point cushion from the relegation zone and hopefully a performance worthy of giving them a kick start for the season.

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

ABCDE FC deserved our prestigious 'team of the week' this week after coming out on top in their bottom of the league clash against PICKnMIX fc. Sam Belcher's team were very much expected to walk away with the league title and...well...that clearly hasn't gone to plan, as they now sit in the bottom of the league battle and level on points with 3 other teams in 7th place. This was another match between 2 rivals and as shown in the past, that is exactly the time when ABCDE FC really turn up! Sam's team are very known for their lake of goal scoring, but not this week! The same as in their rival match against Man Chest Hair United, their finishing was on another level, the kind of goals that no keeper in the league is even getting near. One goal that stood out for me was a sweetly struck volley, the kind of volley where you can see him lining up the shot and in your head you're thinking - oh god no don't shoot! For him to then riffle it into the bottom corner and casually jog off pretending it wasn't a big deal. A brilliant team display and hopefully the turn of form these boys need!

DIVISION ONE MOTM!

Ben Rogers - Who Ate All Depays - Ben is one of the better goalkeepers in the league and showed exactly that on Monday night, yet again showing us why he is so important in helping his team continue their 100% start to the season, these guys are really looking unstoppable.
