BASINGSTOKE – An exhilarating week of football concluded with the crowning of three division champions in the Basingstoke Monday 6-a-side Football league. The high-intensity final week of play was one for the history books.
In Division 1, Netsix and Chill secured their title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against BC6, ending the season with an impressive 18 points from nine wins. This included a spectacular performance on the final matchday, showcasing the team's unwavering sportsmanship and grit to win the title.
Division 2 saw Inter Yanan overcome The Kestrel Killaz with a nail-biting 5-4 victory to claim the league title. The champions amassed a total of 16 points from eight victories this season. Inter Yanan's triumph was a testament to their resilience and relentless pursuit of victory, providing a thrilling end to the Division 2 season.
Division 3 witnessed a display of offensive supremacy as Man Tity Reserves annihilated Goal Diggers 10-0, securing the division title with 18 points from nine wins. Man Tity Reserves' dominance throughout the season was clear, culminating in an exciting final week that confirmed their place at the top.
High-scoring games were a common sight this season. Tinchy Sneijder had a standout performance in Division 1, trouncing Diamond Dogs 8-1. In Division 2, a neck-to-neck encounter saw Man Tity edge past Big F Is Back with a 5-2 victory. Meanwhile, Division 3's Daniel Stubbage FC emerged as top scorers of the final week with an 8-2 victory over Grass With No Class.
