Last game of the season....

We only have 1 week to go until we announce all of the end of season winners and with the league table changing again from last weeks results, it really is impossible to call what the table will look like next week.

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

This week a team deserves 'team of the week' for a slightly different reason  and that team is Athletico Pathetico. The reason is partly down to their performance, but mostly down to their behaviour on the pitch. Last week they played a team that will remain unnamed, as they have now been removed from the league due to discipline issues, which we will remind all teams that any foul play or unfriendly behaviour will NOT be tolerated in ANY of our leagues and will result in you being removed from the league IMMEDIATELY. We would like to show our appreciation to James Hartwell and his team for how they reacted to the situation. James was a true captain and tried his very best to calm the situation down and stop it escalating any further, which was noticed by teams and staff on the night. Even with the disgusting behaviour produced by their opponents, all the lads from Athletico kept their cool, didn't react and showed us all why they are the exact kind of team we welcome into the league. On a more positive note, Ash Hurry produced another MOTM performance between the sticks and still continues to show why he can call himself one of the best keepers in the league, possibly even THE best on a consistent basis.

PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARDS!

Sam Belcher - ABCDE FC - Sam is another one of the leagues best keepers, as he showed us again last night. His consistency is not quite up there with Ash, but when he is in the mood, he is easily as good. 3 MOTM performances in a row could possibly mean his consistency is improving.

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

Who ate all depays will be awarded ' team of the week' this week. We made this decision based on their position in the league and their need to win the game to be promotion candidates. Dalton Berry and his team have made a real improvement in the league this season. They have made multiple new signings and managed to field a consistent team most weeks, giving them a far more improved, disciplined and organised team than the previous season. These guys have really put on a fight and pushed for promotion this time around and as a result of that, currently sit 4th and only 1 point behind 2nd place. They also play their rivals on equal points in 3rd in the last game of the season, so a 3rd place finish is very much in their minds. Their new signings have also helped massively, one a defender and one a keeper, both positions they were struggling with each week and now appear to have really sured things up defensively. I think a 3rd place finish would be very respectable for them and next season a real push promotion will be on the cards.

DIVISION ONE MOTM!

Jack Barkham - Astroworldies - jack really shone for his team on Monday night and produced one of his best performances of the season, easily deserving his MOTM award. Although his team lost, he really made the game more competitive.
