The season is all over!

The season has all finished and we now get ready to announce all of our end of season prizes and get ourselves ready for a fresh start in the brand new season.

This season has been a huge success and has seen us keep many of our original teams, who are happy and keen to get started in another season with Leisure Leagues, as are our ever faithful referees.

PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

Well they did it, they left it right to the last game and couldn't have made it any harder for themselves only winning on goal difference, but Sperm Tour FC are Premier League champions for the 2nd consecutive time and are the first team to be crowned champions consecutively. Last season they left it until the last game to beat their rivals in a thrilling last game of the season and this time around, they decided to leave it down to luck. They had to hope and pray that Tea & Busquets dropped points in their last game and thanks to their previous seasons rivals, Athletico Pathetico managed to hold them to a draw and help James Hudson and his team mop up behind to clinch the title on goal different. If I'm honest, I don't believe that any teams were consistence enough throughout the whole season to 'deserve' the title, as there was a lot of position swapping throughout the season and at one point they found themselves sitting mid table. Many teams were good enough to be crowned champions, some with a late run of good form and last minute push for the title and others just consistently near the top of the league. All that matters now is that Sperm Tour were the team that edged it on the night and walk away with the bragging and next week will claim their winners trophies and prize draw entry, so congratulations guys!

PREMIER LEAGUE RUNNERS UP!

Tea & Busquets will claim the premier league runners up spot. Many of us thought that they would edge the title, after a very decent second half to the season watched them climb from the bottom half of the league, right to the top. Unfortunately they couldn't quite hold onto their top spot, as a couple of games towards the end of the season held them to a draw and forced them to drop what was ultimately extremely valuable and costly points. 2nd place is a position in the league these guys should be very proud of in their first season with Leisure Leagues and are certainly a team we look forward to seeing how they can repeat this next season.

DIVISION ONE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

This announcement is no secret and is incredibly deserved! Stroke Titty will walk away being crowned league champions and are the first team to go the entire season undefeated, a stat that shows just how impressive their first season has been. Unfortunately, Stroke titty will not be with us next season and have instead decided to get more involved in 11-a-side, though 1 or 2 of their players are looking to stick around and join forces with other teams, so we wish them all the best of luck and hope they come back soon!

DIVISION ONE RUNNERS UP!

2 Goals 1 Cup have earned themselves the runners up position in Division one and will be the first team to earn promotion and try their luck in the higher division. They managed to earn promotion after their rivals 'Man Chest Hair United' dropped points in their last game and a game they were very much expected to win, allowing 2 Goals 1 Cup to snatch their position and end their season runners up. Stefen Graham and his team did not have a brilliant start to the season, but after a team shuffle, with some new signings, things took a drastic turn and their form suddenly improved massively. His team were suddenly producing win after win and making progress up the table in no time at all, soon finding themselves in a possible promotion position. 2nd place is something they should really be proud of, especially with how their season started and I look forward to seeing how they progress next season in the higher division.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON!

We have joint winners for player of the season, both with 5 MOTM awards.

Scott Elliot - Man Chest hair United - Scott really was that piece of the team that was vital in their success this season. 3rd place is something that would not have been possible without his pace and dribbling. Possible one of the most universal players in the league and being hugely effective wherever his team require him.

Michal Borbely - Thanks For Points - Michal is another player that plays very similar to Scott. He is not quite a universal as Scott, but his quick feet, balance and finishing were almost unrivalled in the league, something that shows with the amount of times his name was taken for MOTM.
