Weekly update!

Let's get stuck into another weekly review and update from our 6 a side league at The Vyne School.

first of all, let me start by saying what a great success the league is proving to be, as the league is already full and only 3 weeks into the first season! This could be for multiple reasons - Is it due to the high level of professionalism our staff show each week whilst running the leagues, which our teams have reluctantly expressed their approval of? Is it due to our teams being reliable and Never being let down without a game? Maybe even the BRAND NEW 3G pitch and goals that we've been blessed with, which our teams also openly express their approval of? Maybe its all three! either way, we will let you make your mind up and maybe you will also realise why Leisure leagues is the biggest and most established provided of small sided football in the world!

Anyway! lets get into the review of the action of the Monday night 6 a side.

On pitch 1 we had our first match between 'haven't got a kalou' and 'sperm tour FC'. both of these teams are unbeaten in the season so far, so could be a big game for them both to try and keep those bragging rights. The report from the referee after the match was that for most of the game it was dominated by 'sperm tour fc' and as a result were 4-0 up until 'haven't got a kalou' managed to find their second wind and completely change the game in the last 10 minutes to make an impressive comeback and Make it 4-4. I am also being told by the referee that the MOTM was an easy decision, as yet again Matt Osborn produced a performance that was "in a different class"

On pitch 2, also playing at the same time as the previously mentioned game, we have "man chest hair united" vs 'bannaz fc'. Now 'bannaz fc' were playing their first game for the league tonight, so we had no idea what to expect from them....WOW! What a team they were and very worthy winners of our 'team of the week' accolade. All the improvements 'man chest hair united' made in the previous week to earn 'team of the week' were completely irrelevant. The game ended 11-3 and the score line was every bit as much of a battering as you can imagine, with them getting their scoring off to a very quick start within the first 30 seconds. There were some positives for 'man chest hair united' though, firstly it was a very cold night, so im sure the keeper will be very grateful for the extra action and keeping him warm and secondly, yet again Alexander David earned himself his 2nd consecutive MOTM for a brilliant defensive effort.

Our last game of the night was contested between 'Switzerland' vs 'who ate all depays'. The match did get off to a slow start, with one of 'who ate all depays' players injuring himself within the first minute and having to sit the rest of the match on the sidelines and just screem constructive abuse at his team instead. This game was by far the most slow paced matches of the night, with neither team really willing to try a ball in behind and out sprint their opponent. The match was however very evenly contested and as a result, ended 2-2. The MOTM from this game was awarded to the team captain himself, Zack Gill. Zack was frequently seen breaking up an opposition attack and being the force behind the attacking play.
