Another Monday night success

What a great start to our new 8 team season!

We were very excited to get our new 8 team league started last night, as were our teams, especially our 2 new teams!

The night as a whole was a great success, with yet another week of 100% attendance from all teams and staff, so lets get stuck into all the action and see how all of our teams from The Vyne School got on in their fixtures from the Monday night league.

Our team of the week award has to go to 'Havent got a kalou'. This game was always going to be a very intense, fast paced and very entertaining football match to watch, as this was a match up of first place and runners up in the previous season. The scoreline, I feel was a fair result of the game and though the kalou boys goalkeeper was the busiest of the two and as a result, earned himself a very well deserved MOTM, showing us why he is the man between the sticks with VERY safe hands and numerous match winning saves. That said, the defensive play from them was also very organised and I'm sure their man at the back was next in line for MOTM had his team mate failed to win it. This team is well known for their stamina and desire to chase every loose ball and win every first or second ball, there really isn't much time on the ball when you play these guys and so tend to dominate their opponents with high intensity pressure, on and off the ball. They rarely fail to create an entertaining game of football.

Other MOTM awards were awarded to -

Adam Bowman from 'Man Chest Hair United', who bagged himself 2 goals in their 5-3 defeat and narrowly missing out on his hatrick.

Sam Belcher from 'ABCDE FC'. Sam is known for his goalkeeping heroics and proved this again last night.

Robert Cooper from 'Thanks for points'. Im told by the referee that Robert had a blinding game and was by far the stand out player.
