Athletico come really close!

I am going to start this with some negativity unfortunately. On Monday night a game was abandoned mid way through the second half, this was due to players from a team being verbally abusive towards the referee throughout the match. I have spoken to numerous players that witnessed the whole thing and all have agreed with the referees decision to end the match. Let me be clear, players being abusive towards our members of staff will NOT be tolerated, there's no excuse for it and no need for it, nobody deserves to be spoken to and treated in the way our referee was on Monday night. There is and will always be consequences for this kind of behaviour in our leagues! Without our referees, there is no football, so even if you disagree with his decision, talk to him about it respectfully and politely and you'll get a response other than a straight red card and a shorter game!

Rant over! let's move onto the more positive things from Monday night at The Vyne school

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

This is going to seem like a strange decision this week but team of the week will actually go to Athletico Pathetico. I know these guys lost 3-2 on the night but they really made our reigning league champions sweat by being on the front foot almost the entire match, only to go behind nearly the end. James Hartwell's team really turned up on Monday night and put these guys through their paces going goal for goal with them. As you'd expect from this game there was some fine finishing and it didn't disappoint by being one of the more entertaining games to watch on the night. Neither team deserved the win but its rare a team reaches the level of our champions, so some serious respect needs putting on Athletico!

PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARDS!

Sam Belcher - three fingers in cider - Sams team won 4-1, which most would be happy about but knowing Sams high expectation of himself, he'll be disappointed to even let that 1 goal in. Both keepers had a great game, but Sam usually shines brighter and yet again last night he did

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

WOW SHOCK RESULT! Six Offenders had put themselves into a position where the league title was theirs to win on goal difference... step forward Astroworldies! Salvy Chelton's team had some good fortune that their opponents had to go to 5 men due to an early injury, but they really made that advantage count by smashing 6 goals past the potential league champions, what a performance! final score 6-0, which also puts them level on points with their opponents and only 1 point below 2nd, but the question is- who would be able to compete in the top divines?

DIVISION ONE MOTM AWARDS!

Alexander David - Man Chest Hair united - In a game that these guys very much expected to win and did win very comfortably, Alex did not take his foot off the gas and although didn't score himself, was responsible for most of the goals with his hard work in the middle of the park!
