The season comes to an end!

Another 6-a-side season comes to an end and so we congratulate our league champions, runners up and of course most valuable player. Let's not forget our bottom of the table warriors, as someone has to come last.

PREMIER LEAGUE AWARDS!

League champions - Athletico Pathetico had a blinder of a season! They finally managed to be crowned league champions of the premier league in their 3rd season with leisure leagues and were very worthy winners this time around, managing to record a very impressive 12 wins, 1 draw and only 1 lose, by far a personal best for James Hartwell and his team. This still isn't good enough for these guys and when speaking to the keeper, he said "yeah we've done well this season but we are going for an unbeaten season next season", which is obviously something that has never been done in the premier league and the closest team to accomplish this is these guys, so let's see what they can achieve against new opposition.

League runners up - Sherbourne Masters were gifted premier league runners up by default. They didn't come in second place and didn't have their best season since joining us, but there was a massive shake up in the league, with a lot of fresh teams coming in and with most of the teams coming in with only a few weeks until the end of the season, it was only fair that these guys received the award. They have also made some new signings and tell me that they have high hopes for next season.

Bottom of the league - Our team that came bottom of the league were Nice to Michu but this wasn't entirely their fault, as they joined the league in the late stages and inherited the low league score from a previous team, so we will spare these guys a grilling on this occasion.

DIVISION ONE AWARDS!

League champions - This season the league champions spot was claimed by Who ate all depays, who topped the table with games remaining and with a 3 point cushion on the last day. Unfortunately these guys won't be around next season as they've decided to take a break from football for the winter with the possibility of coming back in the spring. They fully deserved the title and were a joy to have in the league for multiple seasons. These guys probably had more players in their team over the their duration than any other team I've ever known, but this didn't effect their quality and excellent conduct on the pitch. They are all welcome back any time!

League runners up - The league runners up are also leaving us before next season, but what a season they've had! They started out a few seasons ago as a very average team who usually finished in the bottom end of the table. Fast forward to now and they are finishing their season extremely strong as league runners up. They would certainly win the leagues most improved team. These guys are another team that have expressed an interest in coming back in the spring when its warmer. The captain tells me- "Im the keeper and im too old to be standing in goal in the freezing cold and p***ing rain, so I think we will come back when its better weather" These guys have also been the perfect team to have in the league- never missing games, no outstanding match fees and most importantly, never caused any unwanted drama. Another team we welcome back at any time!

Bottom of the league - These guys however did not inherit their league position and unfortunately were purely to blame for their low scoring end of season tally. In fairness to PICK n PICK, they have certainly improved massively since joining the league and now only lose in single digits, plus! they managed 2 wins and 1 draw. The good news is that they are set to welcome some of who ate all depays players with open arms to strengthen their squad. Better luck next season lads!
