Abingdon Monday 5 a side match night round up!

It was match day 3 at Tilsley Park for our Abingdon Monday 5 a side league. We almost had a full attendance although unfortunately AB's All White's couldn't raise a side this week but will be back for match day 4.

Massive Irons maintained their 100% start to the season due to AB's being away, unfortunately for AB's they lost theirs which gave Royal Madrid the chance to go into second spot, they did it with a 6-2 win over Power Rangers, Liam Palfreeman scoring 4 times for the home team. The Village picked up their first win of the season with a 7-5 victory over Cowley Rovers, captain Jon Green leading by example with a hat-trick.

Cunning Stunts remain top of Div 1 after a 5-2 home win against Expected Toulouse, Costa Rica FC are hot on their tails and only second on goal difference after they won 6-2 against Sporting John. The Sticky Bandits enjoyed a comfortable first win of the season as they beat Hardly Athletic 13-2 with goals from captain Anthony Gerring 4, Matt Piper 4 and Adam Floyd 5.

Goals Aloud made it 3 wins from 3 in Div 2 as they defeated a depleted Survey Monkey's side 12-3. Didwell won a tight game with FC Unts 4-2 to go second, Joel Taylor with a brace. The other game was an absolute cracker as Substandard Liege and Only Put Matip In drew 6-6.

Jack Hendy hit a double hat-trick as Intayanan put in a dominate display to defeat Bacon Mbappe 13-1. McFatty's were also in good form as they won 7-1 away to Relegation Rovers. The final game in the division is still to be decided due to an unfortunate incident during the match which lead to the match being stopped early. This is being dealt and an apology has been received but it goes without saying that all players should respect each other and not let things boil over, the ref was within his right to end it early.

Overall it was still an excellent night of 5 a side and thank you to you all and to our match officials. Thanks Rich 07969 731086.
