Congratulations to Coopers, Young Guard & Abingdonnys

Thank you to all our teams at our Monday night 5 side league at Tilsley Park Abingdon for another great season despite all the disruptions due to the pandemic. Also a big thank you to all our referee's over the season, it's a difficult job and it's not until you've tried it that you realise how tough it can be.

Congratulations to our Premier League winners Coopers Troopers who did more than enough on the final day to secure the title on goal difference with a 19-0 win over Class On Grass. Fruity Spartans were unlucky to finish runners up but never really had much hope of overturning the goal difference going into their match with Hardly Athletic, although they did picked up a deserved 9-5 win. Sex Drugs and Carlton Cole drop into Div 1 despite beating high flyers Hadland Rovers 5-2 while Class On Grass also go down which leaves Victorious Secret as the surviving team in the Prem, they lost 5-3 to Club Tropicana Drinks in their final match.

The Div 1 title was already confirmed before last night but another congratulations to Young Guard who had a 5-0 points match win due Sticky Bandits not arriving for the fixture, thank you to Coopers for staying in and giving them a taste of what to expect in the Prem next season. The second promoted team are Basically Barca who pipped FCUOB to the runners up spot with a 6-3 win over Savills. FCUOB did finish with a win but it wasn't quite enough as they beat Kante 8-6. The other match ended in a 2-2 draw between Cunning Stunts and Substandard Liege. Stunts had for Div 2 along with the Sticky Bandits.

Congratulations to Abingdonny's who held their nerve with both Cesc and Ivory Toast looking to pounce should they slip up, they kept a clean sheet winning 2-0 against Norfolk N Chance to lift the crown. It's a good job they got the win as Unprotected Cesc secured the second promotion place with a 6-3 win over Expected Toulouse while Ivory Toast defeated Survey Monkeys 10-6 to just miss out and finish third. Always next season for Toast. It was great to see bottom side 2 Girls One Schlupp get their first win of the season on the final day as they defeated Tass 10-5. Good preparation for a fresh go at it when we restart.

Thank you again everyone. The new fixtures will be out next week. The new season will start on the 7th June. We are looking to start a new division from the 7th. If you are interested in entering a team please register at the link below or contact Rich on 07969 731086 with any questions:
