PABLO ESCOBALLERS CHAMPIONS OF ABINGDON

Thrilling Finale Marks Close of Abingdon Monday Football League

The 10-week long Abingdon Monday Football League reached its thrilling climax last night with all five divisions featuring intense battles and exciting exhibitions of skill.

In Division 1, Pablo Escoballers put a monumental performance, thrashing FC Unts with a staggering 13-2 victory. The Escoballers' triumph secured them the top spot in their division with an impressive total of 15 points and 7 wins. They have been the standout team in the division, showcasing exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the competition and deservedly take home the top prize in our Thursday night league. The Broad Beans finish in a commendable 2nd place with Six Offenders 3rd by goal difference.

Division 2 saw Pathetico Madrid emerge as champions after defeating Klopps And Robbers 5-1. With 17 points and 8 wins, Pathetico Madrid was the team to beat this season. Their high scoring games and defensive prowess have been a highlight of the campaign and they head to the top flight alongside Sons of Pitches who take the runners up spot. Klopps and Robbers cling onto their place in Division Two ahead of Sluts and Bolts & OJ Utd who both drop to Division 3.

In Division 3, Bud Army managed to conquer the leaderboard despite a heavy 10-2 defeat by Tescos Finest. Their consistent performances throughout the season earned them a total of 14 points and 7 victories, a commendable feat in a highly competitive division. Expected Toulouse join the promotional party having matched the champions on points with only goals difference denying them the winners medals. Both sides will be looking to test their skills as they step up a league for the new season.

Over in Division 4, BarcaBoneHer claimed the championship with a resounding 6-1 victory over OBC Saints. With 17 points and 7 wins, they have been the epitome of consistency, delivering top-notch performances week in and week out. Their convincing 6 - 1 win on the final night confirming their place as league winners and plans for Division 3 will no doubt be already underway. Xavi Dodgers go up too with 1st and 2nd some way clear of the pack while Matty and the Colonisers join Ctrl Alt De Ligt in Division 5

Finally, Division 5 saw Ange Summers rise to the top with a powerful 6-2 win against Hardly Athletic, finishing the season with 16 points and 7 wins. Their aggressive play style and high-scoring games have been a highlight of the division and along with Hardly Athletic they thoroughly deserve the chance to test their skills in the higher division.

It was a spectacular end to a season of high-intensity football, with each division witnessing some extraordinary talent and memorable matches.  As we bid farewell to this season, the anticipation is already building for the next one. Don't forget, we roll straight into the new campaign next week so teams need to be refreshed and ready to go again for another epic season of Monday night 5 a side in Abingdon.
