Abingdon's Thursday 5-a-side football league continued with some fiercely contested matches in Week 4. The participants from Division 1 and Division 2 put on a fantastic spectacle, showcasing their athleticism, teamwork, and skill.
DIVISION ONE
Starting with Division 1, FC HOG clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over MC FC in a match that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. The narrow win for FC HOG highlighted their tenacity and has surely boosted their confidence for the matches to come.
However, the standout performance of the week was undoubtedly Nathan Collins FC's resounding 11-1 triumph over The Pie Eaters. Nathan Collins FC displayed an outstanding offensive performance, with their top striker scoring a hat-trick and firmly establishing them as serious contenders this season.
DIVISION TWO
Turning our attention to Division 2, Brovermars recorded an impressive 5-1 win over Leys United, while Megapints United managed to outclass Diddy FC with a decisive 5-1 scoreline. The Hungry Horses and Straight Outta Compton battled it out in a 2-2 draw, a testament to the evenly matched skills and determination on both sides.
Despite the strong performances from other teams, the most electrifying match in Division 2 was between Sticky Bandits and RealSoSoBad. RealSoSoBad dominated the game from start to finish, registering an 8-3 victory over their opponents. Their top scorer contributed significantly to the win with a fantastic display of goal-scoring prowess.
Week 4 of the Abingdon Thursday's 5-a-side football league was indeed a treat for football enthusiasts, highlighting the competitive spirit and talent within both divisions. As we look forward to the next round of fixtures, the teams will undoubtedly be eager to build on their performances and climb the table in pursuit of the coveted title.
