Borussia Teeth win thriller at Abingdon Thursday 5 a side

Great to see so many teams in attendance for match day 12 of our Abingdon Thursday 5 a side league, especially the day after an England semi-final. We did have a couple of teams unfortunately give late notice, please remember you need to give 7 days notice to cancel a match without charge. Leisure Leagues will always take things into consideration but on the day of the game or the night before is simply to late. If you are short you need to use the transfer market to look for single players or get down there early and grab a couple of guest players. This is the reason we allow guest players when teams are genuinely short. Of course I will always try and help if I can but really I'm only checking the transfer market, posting on the Facebook group and asking for guest players which all captains can do. Thanks

Nathan Collins continued at the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 12-2 win over Murder On Zidane's Floor to maintain their two point cushion at the top. Chicken Tikka Mo Salah picked up a points match win due to Narcos booking the night off in advance. Fat Fighters also had a points match win with Xavi Dodgers pulling out at late notice. Eagles United stay in third after a narrow 3-2 win over Exeter Gently.

There was an upset in Div 1 as Borussia Teeth produced their best performance of the season to end Carlos Puhol's long winning run and 100% record with a 5-4 win over them. The loss is highly unlikely to dent their title charge with only a slight mathematic chance remaining of them not winning it. The Laddington Bears all but secured promotion as they won 10-4 against Jewventus, they now hold a 4 point advantage over Borussia Teeth in third with just two matches to go. In other results Mandy's Boys won 4-3 against Stella Artois while Arselona beat Megs Fit 8-2.

One team that are still going for a 100% record for the season are Wootton FC who defeated second place Ballers FC 6-1 to make it 12 wins on the bounce since joining the league at the beginning of the season. With the title sealed it's now about getting that perfect record over the next two weeks. Ballers are two points clear of third place Zubry Oxford who won 11-4 against Zircotekkas. FC Hog edged it against The Pie Eaters 3-2 while new team Blewbarians picked up a points match win with SWXI away at late notice.

Thank you to our teams and our refs Warren, Alan and Dean. See you all next week for match day 13. Also don't forget It's Coming Home on Sunday. Come On England!!!!!
