Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side end of season!

In a thrilling conclusion to the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League, the champions have been declared following last night's intense matches.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, Spraggys Chopper FC outdid themselves, clinching the top spot with an impressive 14 points after seven wins in a really close run title race with Ballotellitubies and The Mighty Ducks. They showcased their dominance in yesterday's match, securing a comprehensive victory against Spoonies FC with a scoreline of 9-1. The league also witnessed a nail-biting match between Ballotellitubies and The B480, which ended in a close 6-5 score in favour of Ballotellitubies on top of another thriller which saw The Mighty Ducks win 5-4 against Basically Barca.

DIVISION ONE

Over in Division 1, Saka Potatoes proved their mettle, topping the chart with 16 points and eight wins. Displaying immense skill and team spirit, they defeated Hangover 96 in a tightly contested match that ended 8-6, Hangover however still clinched the second promotion spot and a return to the Premier League. In other games Maragonna defeated FCUOB 6-4 while Shaggers won 6-3 against Ale Stars.

DIVISION TWO

Meanwhile, Division 2 was ruled by Slough Posse FC as they finished the season with 16 points and eight wins with a dramatic victory in their last game which saw them edge out Athletic Hanney FC in a thrilling 5-4 victory to pip Park The Airbus to the title. Airbus managed to win against  Billy Big Ballers 5-0, showing their defensive prowess and take the second promotion spot. The other game in the division saw Pickle FC and Jet FC shared the point after a entertaining 5-5 draw.

On the whole, the final week of the season was a delightful spectacle of sportsmanship, skill, and competitive spirit. Such a thrilling conclusion to the league has left us eagerly awaiting the next season. It serves as a reminder of the passion and determination that can be witnessed in local football leagues. The league has truly lived up to its promise of delivering entertaining football till the very end.
