Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side news End of Season

The Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side football league came to an exciting conclusion last night, marking the end of a ten-week season filled with fierce competition and exceptional sportsmanship. Teams from across the divisions battled it out on the pitch, demonstrating skill, strategy and tenacity.

Premier League
In the Premier League, The Mighty Ducks played against Basically Barca in a thrilling 3-3 draw, while Shy Teds FC fell to Saka Potatoes in a high scoring match ending 8-5. Spraggys Chopper FC achieved victory against Pewsey Town FC with a 9-4 win. Ultimately, Spraggys Chopper FC emerged as the division champions with an impressive total of 18 points from 9 victories.

Division 1
Division 1 saw Maragonna outperform Slough Posse FC with a 6-4 win, Spoonies FC just getting the edge over The B480 with a 4-3 victory, and Shaggers United beating Park The Airbus with a 14-3 win. Shaggers United sealed the Division 1 title with a total of 18 points and nine victories to their name.

Division 2
Moving on to Division 2, FCUOB claimed a commanding 7-0 victory over We8swindon, Billy Big Ballers and Ale Stars ended with a 3-3 draw and JET FC overwhelmed Pickle FC in a 16-2 win. FCUOB clinched the Division 2 title with 15 points from seven victories.

The final week of the season witnessed impressive performances, nail-biting matches and deserving champions. Congratulations to Spraggys Chopper FC, Shaggers United and FCUOB for their well-deserved victories. Their performances have set a high standard for the coming seasons and we look forward to another exciting season of Abingdon Wednesday league football.
