Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side news Week 8

ABINGDON - Week 8 of the Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side Football league witnessed some high-octane football across all divisions with teams vying for top spot as only two weeks of the season remain.

Premier League
In the Premier League, The Mighty Ducks made their presence known with a dominant 10-1 thrashing of Kiss My Pass UTD. The Ducks displayed a spectacular performance, solidifying their spot at the top of the table.

Division 1
Division 1 was ripe with spectacular competition as well. An incredibly close match saw Pewsey Town FC edge out Unathletico in a high-scoring affair, 5-4. This result has surely given Pewsey a significant boost for their final weeks of the season. Meanwhile, Just Stumpy FC secured their position with a handy win over Ale Stars, 3-1.

Division 2
Division 2 was not short of nail-biting matches either. Pickle FC managed a hard-fought 2-1 win over Jakes Desciples, and Slough Posse FC and Lightning F.C shared the points with a 2-2 draw. The highlight of the night, however, was the seven-goal thriller between JET FC and Dicktatorship, which ended 4-3 in favor of the latter.

As the season draws to a close, teams are urged to secure their place for the next season. And, while we're on the subject of top performers, let's not forget to mention the top scorers from each division. The Mighty Ducks' remarkable goal fest places them as the top scorers in the Premier League; Pewsey Town FC takes the honor in Division 1, and Dicktatorship, with their incredible 4-goal haul, are the top scorers in Division 2.

With only two weeks left to play, the stakes have never been higher. The final matches of the Abingdon Wednesday League promise to be a thrilling spectacle you won't want to miss.
