Crouchy Utd top Div 1 at Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side

After being away for over a week it is good to be catching up on the results and tables at our Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side league at Tilsley Park. Although we are still having a few issues with teams having to self isolate it's not quite as bad as it was a couple of weeks ago so hopefully we will begin seeing full attendances again in the coming weeks. I know it's been hugely frustrating for teams, especially those going for titles and promotion but it's better than going back into lockdown.

We do have one space in the Premier League so Hagdons picked up a points match win last night, thank you to Exeter for staying on. This win keeps up Hagdons 100% record after 4 games. Kogs's Angels rose into second spot with an impressive 7-2 win over Ye Mon while Wellers didn't hang about in their game as they defeated a understrength The More 12-0. Shaktar and Bayern both had over 3 players self isolating so neither could attend which left the result to go in as 0-0. Both will be returning next week.

Crouchy Utd are the new leaders in Div 1 as they cruised to a 7-1 win over Queens Park Hydrangeas to knock Hydrangeas down to third. The Mighty Ducks also had an impressive win as they defeated Inter Girls U16 12-2. Spread The Play couldn't go top themselves as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Jezzys while Nice Guys Finish Last and Chamakh My Pitch Up also shared a 3-3 draw.

Unfortunately to their frustration Kipsta lost their 100% record in Div 2 due to the majority of the team being in self-isolation, however they do remain top on goal difference. Slough Posse took on Jezzys in a points match so had the win to send them into second. It's very tight now at the top as Ale Stars won 4-2 against Pathetico Madrid to go a point behind the top three. New team Exeter Gently won 11-3 against Unremarkables while another new team Murder On Zidanes Floor drew 4-4 with Club De Cot.

Thank you to all our teams and to all the ones that have helped out staying on for friendlies while we work through this tricky period. Once we are through August hopefully things will be looking much better again. Thank you also to our match night supervisor Dean who had to ref last night as well along with our other refs Ian and Ollie. See you all next week for match day 5.
