New Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side season kicks off!

The highly anticipated Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League started off on a high note yesterday with teams across all divisions showing impressive performances. The league, divided into the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2, saw some thrilling matches that set the tone for an exciting season ahead.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, Saka Potatoes and Hangover 96 battled it out on the field, with Saka Potatoes emerging victorious by a scoreline of 9-5. In another tightly contested match, Spraggys Chopper FC managed to secure a 5-3 win against Basically Barca, setting the stage for what is sure to be an intriguing season.

DIVISION ONE

Over in Division 1, the excitement continued with Shaggers United outplaying Maragonna with a 7-2 victory. The B480 showcased their strength with a commanding 8-2 win over Slough Posse FC. The closely fought match between Spoonies FC and Park The Airbus ended with a narrow 4-3 victory for the latter team.

DIVISION TWO

Division 2 also saw its fair share of action, with new team We8swindon pulling off a 9-4 win against Pickle FC. Ale Stars and JET FC battled to a 7-7 draw while FCUOB and Billy Big Ballers also shared the spoils with a 3-3 draw.

The season has just started and these initial games have showcased the strength and talent of the teams involved. The competition is sure to heat up as the teams continue to vie for supremacy in their respective divisions. Stay tuned for more exciting action from the Abingdon Wednesday Football League.
