Socios beat Silly Buggers to open up gap at the top

Socios Utd made big moves on the prem title of our Wednesday night 5 a side league in Abingdon this week. They faced fellow top side Silly Buggers and in what was a brilliantly entertaining game Socios came away with a 6 - 4 win and a two point gap at the top of the league. Murder on Zidanes also won to move up to 6 points, their 7 - 2 win was against Pathletico Madrid who still hunt for their 1st points of the campaign. AbingDons poicked up the points with a 5 - 0 points win this week.

Division One saw Wenby Athletic stamp their authority on the title race with an 11 - 6 win over nearest rivals Saka Potatoes. Nice guys beat Slough Posse to go 2nd, 7 - 2 in this one while the final game in the division saw Ale Stars get past Wenger Boys 5 - 2 to register their 1st points.

The Mighty Duck are way out in front in Div 2 on 10 points with a massive 58+ goal difference. This was helped with their 19 - 3 win over Maragonna this week who drop to 4th having just started to find a bit of form. Basically Barca are 2nd and they won well this week too, 15 - 2 in finished in their game with Unremarkables who are yet to get off the mark this season. Goals Allowed sit just above them at the foot of the table on 2 points but were beaten this week in a brilliant game against FCUOB. The 10 - 8 scoreline probably the best this week in an entertaining evening at Tilsley Park.

Well done to all the teams and to Dean and his crew on the ground. The divisions are starting to take shape now as we reach the halfway point in the season, amazing how the weeks fly by but there is plenty to play for here on a Wednesday night still.
