Wednesday nights 5 a side returns to Abingdon

Following on from a great first match day back at our Monday league it was the turn of our Wednesday night 5 a side league to get back underway last night at Tilsley Park.

We are only into week 2 of the season but there were some interesting results and some fantastic matches throughout the divisions. Firstly we have new leaders in the Premier League as Hagdons had a comfortable evening to make it two wins from two as they strolled to a 6-0 win over Nice Guys Finish Last. Champions Ye Mon had their work cut out as they took on a strong newly promoted side in Bad Kompany with Kompany showing enough quality to edge this game 6-4 and stay second. Another game which produced end to end attacking football was FC Hog against Abingdons FC. Abingdons coming out of it with a 7-6 victory in the end. Finally new team Unorganised took to the Premier League like a duck to water as they won a high scoring game with Trade FC 12-6.

Bayern Neverloosen returned to action in Div 1 determined to put behind them the disappointment of narrowly missing out on promotion last season to go top with a 10-5 win against Fernando Tories (great name btw lol). Newly promoted Shaktar Last Night will be hoping for another great season and back to back promotions as they set about their business winning 8-1 against Slough Posse. Another team with two wins from two are I Bet You Look Good On Zidanes Floor as they defeated Ale Stars 4-1 while The Might Ducks and Spread The Play drew 3-3.

Finally in Div 2 Chamakh My Pitch Up have started the season strongly and sit top after a 10-0 success against Club De Cot, FC Spangled also produced a big victory as the defeated Unremarkables FC 12-0. Crouchy United picked up their first win of the season with victory over Pathetico Madrid 9-3 while Kipsta FC got their first points of the season with a 5-2 win against Brad's Formula.

Thank you to all 24 teams along with our supervisor Warren and referee's Dean, Dean and Ian. Enjoy your Easter weekend and see you next week.
