WEDNESDAY TITLES IN THE BAG AT ABINGDON 5 A SIDE

Our Wednesday Night season of 5 a side in Abingdon is coming towards it's conclusion and two of our divisions have champions confirmed with a couple of matches to spare.

The Premier League title will go to Socios who have won all of their 8 games so far and with just 4 points available now they have an unassignable 6 point lead. This week it was our leagues newest team who had a great go but ultimately found the challenge to much as the champions elect cruised to a 16 - 3 win. Hula Girls need just a point to guarantee survival and will hope to find their feet against Pathletico next week. It will be Div One for Pathletico what ever happens over the next few weeks as the points required to stay up are now beyond them, they have pride to play for though and will be looking to find some form ahead of the new season. This week they went down 12 - 3 to 2nd placed Murder on Zidanes Floor while fellow strugglers Jugg FC picked up an important 2 points following the non arrival of AbingDons resulting in a 5 - 0 win.

Division One is still up for grabs with what is realisitcly a two horse race for the title over the remaining two weeks. Saka Potatos in second have made it very interesting with a great 11 - 6 win over leaders Wenby Athleticto cut the gap to just 2 points. Slough Posse are still in with a shout of promotion after a 5 - 0 points win against Nice Guys this week. while the bottom two teams Ale Stars and Wenger Boys both came away with a point after an amazing 4 - 4 draw. Wenger Boys are resigned to Div 2 football next season but Ale Stars still have a good chance of staying up if they can beat Nice Guys next week.

The Mighty Ducks will be in Div One next season and have confirmed that they will go up as champions having won all 8 of their games so far. Like Socios in the prem they have a 6 point gap to second placed Basically Barca and a crazy goal difference of 81 to go with it, what a season for the Ducks, enhanced with a comfortable win over Maragonna last night. Barca won well too and FCUOB kept themselves in the hunt for the 2nd promotion spot with a good 5 - 2 win over Goals Allowed.

So there is still things to play for in each league with promotion and relegation still in the balance for many of our teams, congratulations to both Socios and Mighty Ducks though, can either go the whole season unbeaten ? We will find out over the next few weeks.
