Sunday 15th August - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance for their scheduled fixtures throughout the night, the only two exceptions being Incredible Scenery for a second week, meaning they've now been removed, and Oldman Athletic who've confirmed their return for Sunday 22nd August.

In the Premier Division all eyes were on the Sting Dem v Athletico Man Dem clash as this was set up to be an interesting tie.  New team Sting Dem put in a good performance and picked up their second win in two since joining as they ran out 3-1 winners.  AFC Wip are the only other team in the league with 2 wins from two as they were 1-0 victors over Chivas Primera.  Interestingly every other team in the division has already lost a game after only two, making for an interesting season ahead!

Chivas Supplemento made it two from two in Division One and are the only side in the division to have done so, they were 3-0 winners in an impressive performance in their match against Only Put Matip In.  Goose FC and D&G United occupy second and third place respectively and both sit on 3 points from 2 games, nothing could separate the two this week as their game ended goalless.

In a much changed Division 2 with three new teams in since last season, two of the new sides occupy the top two positions at this early stage.  FKW FC sit top with 2 wins from 2 as they recorded a single goal victory over Hales Angels in a hard fought performance, whilst Dumbledore Pure Bludz and Cesc Pistols played out an entertaining game which ended 1 a piece.  The other new side in the league, Gledfellas picked up their first win since joining as they ran out 2-0 winners over Strike4orce.

Over on the Metchley Lane pitches in Division Three, Jose 6 made it two wins in as many games with a 2-1 victory over Cadrington FC, whilst The Pique Blinders also have maximum points so far, they won an entertaining clash against FC Tormenta 4-2.

Pathetico Madrid's solid start to the campaign continued as they recorded back to back clean sheets with their 3-0 win over Birmingham FC, whilst UAE Town and Tikka Taka occupy second and third spots on three points a piece after their goalless draw this week.
