Sunday 1st October - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was an excellent evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their games throughout the night, only a cancellation from Bell Them Birds Back being an exception, they return to action on Sunday 8th October.

We have removed Weoley Warriors from the league following their abusive conduct towards the University staff on Sunday when asked to leave a pitch that we had not hired.  WE REMIND ALL TEAMS THAT THE MIDDLE HOCKEY PITCH IS NOT TO BE USED TO WARM UP ON UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.  WE DO NOT HIRE THIS PITCH AND DO NOT PAY FOR IT, AND IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE USED FOR FOOTBALL.  ANYBODY REPEATEDLY FLOUTING THIS REQUEST FACES REMOVAL.

Welcome to new teams 'Hangin' and Balotellitubbies' who join into Division Five on Sunday 8th October. We wish these good luck going into their first fixtures this weekend.

Damo Carew edged past Chiellini Con Carne 2-1, while Gledfellas overpowered DADS ARMY with a 3-1 victory. But it was METCH FC's dominant 5-2 win over Chivas Primera and Ls Up Fc's 7-3 victory over Washed Kings FC that stole the limelight. Ross of Ls Up Fc delivered an outstanding performance, securing his spot on the scoreboard with 3 goals.

In Division 1, Athletico Northfield set the pitch on fire with an outstanding 10-3 victory over Invictus FC, thanks in large part to Ewan's stellar strike rate, netting 5 goals. The match between Gangsters Allardyce and Chivas Supplemento was a closer affair, ending in a 2-1 victory for Gangsters Allardyce.

In Division 2, Dead Ballers FC secured a narrow win over AFC Domi Force (3-2) while Marx Brothers clinched a 2-1 victory over Alton Wanderers FC. But the spotlight remained on Al from The Hungry Boys, who scored a crucial goal for his team.

Division 3 saw intense fixtures with Le Sserafim FC securing a 1-0 victory over MXRLEYS ANGELS and Sons Of Pitches FC emerging victorious over BigFatDave FC with a 2-1 scoreline. In Division 4, an exciting draw was witnessed between Brummie Boys FC and Paraletic Athletic (4-4), while Sevilla Tism FC edged past Kroos Control 4-3.

Lastly, Division 5 saw Schmeichel Jackson register an impressive 3-0 win over Weoley Warriors, and Circumcised United narrowly defeating Say No to Drugs FC 2-1.

We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Birmingham's premier providers of small sided football!
