Sunday 20th March - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, the only exception being Bluff Squad in Division Five, who will be spoken to accordingly and confirmed to return on Sunday 27th March.

After completing their two week withdrawal notice, Brunswick Bladez have now withdrawn from the league, meaning we have ONE SPACE AVAILABLE in Division one at present!  Sign up today and claim FREE ENTRY WORTH £25 and an immediate start for your team! We will call you upon receipt of your application form to confirm receipt of this and your first fixture time!

On the pitch there were some excellent matches played.  None more-so than in the Premier Division, where Gledfellas look an accomplished Premier Division side, rather than one who's just been promoted!  They made it four wins on the spin, this week they were comfortable 4-0 winners against Chiellini Con Carne to remain on maximum points!  Ball Shmoovement dropped points for the first time this term, they were beaten 2-0 by Sting Dem who continue to recover from an opening day defeat and now sit in second place, continuing to apply the pressure on the leaders.  FKW came out on top of a five goal game, running out 3-2 winners over Chivas to move into third spot, whilst Dads Army got back to winning ways, with a disciplined performance and 2-0 win against Sporting Madrid who are yet to register a point this term as theirs and Chivas' season struggles to get going.

Division One leaders Birmingham Tiki-Taka Elite stay top of the league with their fourth win on the spin, beating a departing Brunswick Bladez by a 7-1 margin, whilst Pique Blinders themselves remain dead level with the leaders on points, they were 3-1 winners against Gylfi Pleasures who drop to sixth spot.  Only Put Matip In were 5-0 victors against Pain In Dias, and Chivas Primera got their first points of the campaign, overcoming Crusaders Massive by a 4-2 margin.

There were few surprises in the top v bottom clash of Division Two this week, as Dumbledore Pure Bludz were 4-2 winners over Hotel Thiago.  Hungry Boys remain two points off the leaders as they recorded their third win on the spin, a 7-0 spanking of Hales Angels CF their latest victory.  34a1ner got back to winning ways to remain in third, putting last weeks defeat firmly behind them as they were comprehensive 6-1 winners over Dolce and Lallana, and Come Digne With Me remain in fourth spot after their fine 3-0 win against Tikka Taka.

Nothing could separate the top two in Division Three this week, as Cesc Pistols and Orange Tangerines stay in first and second respectively as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.  Bayer Neverlusen moved into third place with a 1-0 win over Damo Carew enough to see them leapfrog Cadrington FC who were beaten 5-0 by The Tormenta.  Jose 6 returned to action this week after missing last weeks match, and they were in fine form as they completed a 4-2 win over bottom of the table Brummie Boys.

Division Four saw the top two before kick off meet, but Boshers dropped to third position as they lost 3-0 to leaders Alton Wanderers, with The Cotters moving back into the promotion places following their 2-0 win over Mxrleys Angels, as they look to complete what they couldn't last season and get promotion.  Elsewhere UAE Town and Chucho Motherfooters couldn't be separated as their game ended in stalemate, 0-0 the final score.

Wolves of Vita Street have had it all their own way so far in Division Five, not this week though as new boys Fritzl Palace came in and smashed the leaders 7-0 to show they mean business!  Madeleine Milan moved into third spot as they made short work of Corner McGregor, romping to a 9-0 win, whilst Ajax Army edged past Masterbaiters by 2 goals to 1.

Thank you to all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league!  If you have any queries before joining you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
