Sunday 22nd January - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's action in the Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their matches, the only disappointment being Its Getting Messi in Division Three, they have since been removed from the league.

We are delighted to confirm the addition of new team Veggie United to Division Three as a replacement for the above, and wish these good luck going into their debut game v The Cotters!

The Premier Division is led by Dads Army at this early stage, they collected their third win on the spin this week as they Damo Carew by 3 goals to nil, they are tailed by second placed Chiellini Con Carne who won by the same scoreline against The Hungry Boys to stay level on points with the leaders.  Neverloseagain have looked impressive since their return to action, they were 4-0 victors against The Tormenta, whilst Gledfellas edged past Chivas by a single goal but dropped to fifth on goal difference.

Division One is led by Chivas Supplemento who claimed their third win in a row this season, beating Goals Aloud by 2 goals to 1, whilst AFC Kings Heath fall a point off the summit after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Tikka Taka, they stay second though.  Athletico Northfield moved up a place to third as they were 4-2 victors over Hales Angels CF.  We've Got Diogo Jota remain fourth after a disciplined performance saw them run out 2-0 winners over Robben Me Blind.

In Division Two The Elgar Penthouse claimed a third win and clean sheet on the bounce, running out 3-0 winners against Invictus FC.  Dumbledore Pure Bludz stay second but had to settle for a point this week as they shared the spoils with Alton Wanderers who sit third after a 1-1 draw.  Despite a 1-0 defeat to new boys Metch FC BigFatDave climbed a place to fourth.  Bell them Birds Back got their first victory of the season as they improve each week, they were 2-1 winners over Mxrleys Angels.

NDicka In Dias got their third win in a row this week as their defensive line was breached for the first time this season, they ran out 4-1 winners over Boshers, whilst Hicks and Eel were 3-1 winners over 2Legs1Rock to keep them in second place.  The Cotters moved up to fourth placed in the table with an efficient performance that yielded a 3-0 win over Naughty Pinky.

In Division Four, a cancellation from MSC meant leaders Top G's got a 5-0 win to stay top of the pile.  Masterbaiters climed to second place and are level on points with the leaders after they beat Birmingham United 3-1, whilst The Pie Guys got a point to move into third, drawing 1-1 with Diamond Scrubs.  Gangsters Allardyce climbed out of the drop zone as they got their first points of the season with a 2-1 victory against Brummie Boys.
