Sunday 23rd October - Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night as scheduled, the only exception being Orange Tangerines in Division Two and Madeleine Milan in Division Four, both of which will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their returns on Sunday 30th October.

Dads Army picked up a fantastic result in the Premier Division as they beat Neverloseagain by 5 goals to nil in a superb performance from the experienced side.  Elsewhere, Your Dad Sells Avon continue to stay at the top of the table as they cruised to a 4-2 win over Chivas.  Gledfellas moved up to second spot with a single goal win over Chiellini Con Carne, whilst Pique Blinders also moved up a place to third after an impressive 5-1 win over Crusaders Massive.

Damo Carew were 5-0 winners in their match against The Tormenta tonight as their sixth win in seven games sees them move five points clear of this weeks opponents who drop to third, meaning despite a 1-0 defeat to AFC Kings Heath, Gylfi Pleasures moved up a place to second!  Diogo Jota moved up to fourth place and within a point of the two teams directly above them as they edged past Cesc Pistols by a goal to nil.  Completing the action was the battle of the bottom two in which Dumbledore Pure Bludz claimed their second win in a row as they look to move up the table, this week an impressive 2-0 win over Hungry Boys sees them move to within a point of safety.

In Division Two, Tikka Taka remained in second place with a 5-0 win over BigFatDave FC as they stay a point off the leaders who also had a 5-0 win this week owing to their opponents no show.  Robben Me Blind leapfrogged this weeks opposition Chivas into third place after they ran out 3-2 winners in an entertaining match.  Elsewhere Mxrleys Angels climbed off the foot of the table as they shared the spoils with Athletico Northfield in a game that ended 1-1.

Division Three leaders Ajax Army continued their fine vain of form for the season as they secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Goals Aloud, keeping them two points ahead of Ballers or Draws who continue to do their best to keep pace, they were 3-1 winners over Naughty Pinky.  Invictus FC are another team very much in the title race, their 4-1 win over The Score Is puts them on ten points and level with second.  Akhtars VI and The Cotters remain where they were in the lower to mid table, they shared a point each in a 1-1 draw.

FC Bournabeu went top of Division Four this week at the expense of Boshers FC who drop to fourth after a 3-0 scoreline this week, whilst Alton Wanderers and The Elgar Penthouse occupy second and third after a goalless draw between the two.  The Pie Guys climbed off the bottom of the table and above Brummie Boys who they edged past by 2 goals to 1 this week.

Division Five leaders Hicks and Eel won an eight goal thriller over Bumba Lion by 5 goals to 3 this week to stay top of the pile, moving them a point clear of second placed MSC FC who drew 1-1 with Gangsters Allardyce, whilst Ndicka's 2-0 win over Shedhead sees them move into third position.  Completing the divisions action was a goalless draw between Apna Madrid and Masterbaiters as neither could be separated.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment towards the league and wish all teams good luck going into game week 8 with Birmingham's premier and longest established small sided football providers!
