A new season of the Northampton Sunday 7-a-side league kicked off this week with two great games, as we dove straight back into the action following on from a great campaign last season. 

Gromit Mug and Pay to Win picked up default wins to kick-start their seasons, which meant Never Back Down and Retirement Home FC began the action.

And their clash did not disappoint, with a nine-goal thriller setting the tone for what promises to be another great season. It was ultimately Never Back Down, who picked up a 6-3 win. 

The second game was another fascinating battle, as Skippers FC and Hangover FC went head-to-head and shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw.
