An exciting round of fixtures in the Northampton Sunday 7-a-side league saw some serious movements in the league tables. The gameweek saw a lot of walkovers, with NN Boyz, Hangover FC and Team Alpha all getting awarded default 5-0 wins.
Hangover FC maintained the top spot as a result, extending their goal difference lead over The Old Firm and NN Boyz as all three sides have 8 points. However, NN Boyz's default win over FC Club de Swaz puts them just one goal behind second-placed Old Firm, with a chance to leapfrog them next week.
The Old Firm continued their winning start to the season with a hard-fought 3-2 win at home over Retirement Home FC. The visitors showed a lot of fight after a tough 6-0 defeat last week, but a lot of work is to be done to improve their solitary point tally.
Never Back Down FC followed up last week's victory with another crucial win at the University of Northampton pitches. They defeated PhatSeshUnited 3-1, in a clash of fifth versus sixth. The home side have now created a three-point gap between them and their mid-table counterparts.
