Match Report - Worcester Sunday 6-a-side League - Game Week 1


The highly anticipated opening game week of the new season in the Leisure Leagues Worcester Sunday 6-a-side league kicked off with a bang at the brand new 3G football pitch at the University of Worcester. The teams were filled with excitement as they took to the pristine pitch, eager to showcase their skills and make a strong start to the campaign.


However, amidst the enthusiasm, there was a disappointment as Millwall failed to attend the fixtures despite confirming their participation. As a result, they have been replaced by the new team '6 Offenders,' and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming match on Sunday 25th June.


In the Premier Division clash, PLJ FC took on the newly promoted INJURED FC, who were determined to make a statement in their first appearance in the top flight. INJURED FC lived up to their name, inflicting a painful defeat on PLJ FC with a convincing 4-1 victory. The newly promoted team showcased their intent to compete and announced themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Premier Division.


SEATS R US, another newly promoted team, surprised everyone with their superb performance against HALLER YOU KANTE. Displaying great teamwork and skill, SEATS R US triumphed with a resounding 4-1 win. Their solid start will surely boost their confidence as they look to make their mark in the league.


The match between WORCESTER TEAM and CHAMPS FC was a highly anticipated encounter, with the former being considered strong contenders for the title this season. WORCESTER TEAM lived up to expectations, emerging victorious with a 4-2 scoreline. The Premier Division champions of the previous season, CHAMPS FC, were given a stern reminder that the road to retaining their crown won't be easy.


Moving on to Division One, LEEK IN DEFENCE faced off against KERALA BLASTERS in a thrilling encounter that saw goals raining in from both sides. In a high-scoring affair, LEEK IN DEFENCE emerged as narrow winners with a 5-4 scoreline. It was an exhilarating match that left the spectators on the edge of their seats.


HALLER YOU KANTE 2 locked horns with BROM FC in a closely contested battle. With both teams eager to start their campaign on a positive note, the match was a display of grit and determination. In the end, BROM FC managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory, leaving HALLER YOU KANTE 2 with a bitter taste in their mouths.


The debutant team, KHEDIRA PIN DROP, faced a tough challenge in their opener against BREWERS FC. Although KHEDIRA PIN DROP fought valiantly, BREWERS FC proved to be too strong, securing an emphatic 5-0 win. Despite the setback, KHEDIRA PIN DROP will look to regroup and bounce back in the upcoming matches.


In another exciting Division One fixture, CRAPOLI, a recently relegated team, showed great resilience as they settled into their new surroundings. CRAPOLI dominated the match against LEAVEMEARSELONA, clinching a comfortable 3-0 victory and making a strong statement about their ambitions for promotion.
