DIVISION ONE - BARELY ATHLETIC XX
The highly anticipated Maidstone Wednesday Football League wrapped up its 14th week of action with some thrilling fixtures and remarkable performances. With the final week of the season coming to an end, teams battled it out in the Premier League and Division 1, showcasing their skills and determination to secure their positions in the league.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, 24Kcider emerged as the triumphant team, claiming the title with an impressive total of 26 points and 13 wins to their name. They showcased their prowess once again in their last match, overpowering Lobs United with a convincing 3-0 victory. Meanwhile, Pacey Melons showcased their attacking flair, securing a thrilling 8-6 win against Mandem FC who join Lobs United in Div 1 next season.
Individual brilliance shone through in the Premier League, with Brandon Bennett of Beercelona proving to be the standout performer. Bennett's exceptional display saw him finish as the top scorer in the division, netting an impressive total 13 goals this season, adding another three on the night as Beercelona overcame The Keita Success 3-2.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Barely Athletic Xx emerged as the victors, clinching the division title with an admirable total of 23 points and 11 wins. They showcased their dominance in their final game, overpowering Get The Badge In with an 8-5 victory, Jordan Goodbrand with a hat-trick. Ronaldfc also displayed their skills, securing a 4-2 win against Inter Mulan while Phil Mc Corey leapfrogged Boobs N Doobs into the second promotion spot as they beat Bottle Jobs 7-2 while Boobs went down 4-3 to Up The Tovil. Dylan Holness netting an impressive four times for Phil Mc Corey to smash the Golden Boot charts with 29 for the season.
The Maidstone Wednesday Football League has provided numerous thrilling moments throughout its 14-week journey. The dedication, talent, and sportsmanship displayed by all teams have been commendable, creating an exhilarating atmosphere for all involved.
Congratulations to 24Kcider and Barely Athletic Xx for their exceptional performances in the Premier League and Division 1, respectively. Their efforts and achievements have solidified their positions as deserving champions in their respective divisions.
We would like to extend their gratitude to all our players and of course Derek and all our referee's who contributed to yet another successful season.
