Worldies edge towards perfect season at Maidstone 6 a side

The season climax is upon us next week as we get to the end of another Maidstone Wednesday 6 a side season at Valley Park School. All teams were in attendance last night apart from Kazakhstan who couldn't make it at late notice, thank you to Exeter Gently for staying on.

Astro Worldies are just one game away from making it a perfect season as they won for the 13th time in a row last night with a 4-1 victory against Mind Of Mata. The leagues top scorer Harrison Mayhew banged in a hat-trick to take his tally to 33 for the season while Jack Matthews added the other. Exeter Gently picked up their first win of the season as they defeated second place Real Ale Madrid 2-0, it won't save them for the drop but a good win nonetheless. Luke Worton and Alex W scored braces as Shush beat new team Useless FC 4-2. Jay Barret and Alex Hawley in reply for Useless. In the other match The Upbeats rose to third with a 6-3 win over Geri Hat-tricks. Goals from Tom Dunk 2, Jamie Butler 2, Dom Bourne and Kevin Calzone. Geri scoring through captain Harry Knight 2 and Raf Alvarez.

There was no change again at the top of Div 1 as the top three all won their matches. 2 Goals 1 Cup won courtesy of a points match due to Kazakhstan not being in attendance to keep them top. Seshball stay two points behind after a convincing 8-1 victory against Inter Yernan FC. Jacob Hodges scored 4 while Nic Bell hit a hat-trick with a strike from Nathan Hinckley. 2 Girls 1 Schlupp won 5-0 against Norfolk to remain level with Seshball. The other match ended with a 5-3 for Cream Rises against Boobs N Doobs.

Thank you to all our teams and our refs Derek, Steven, Ash, Josh and Nicola. See you all next week for the last game of the season. The new season will start on 25th August. Thanks Rich
