The Canvey Island Monday 6-a-side football league has officially kicked off its new season last night, with a series of exciting matches across three divisions.

In the Premier League, Bang Average set a strong statement with a comprehensive victory over Thorney Bay FC 5-1. Another notable result in the same division was seen in the game of Talwin FC who demolished Norfolk ā€˜Nā€™ Chance with a staggering score of 13-1, marking the highest goal count of the evening. The Canvey Cartel and BTD also battled it out, with BTD securing a 3-1 win. Lastly, Scooby Snacks FC managed to edge out a victory against Reliable Rock Rovers with a scoreline of 4-2.

Over to Division 1, there were tight contests throughout the evening. 8 BALL triumphed over Sliding Uphill FC 3-1, while Only Put Matip In squeezed a narrow victory against Brunts Pensioners 3-2. The highlight of the Division 1 matches was Almirons Army's clean sheet victory against Dels Super Heros ending the game at 3-0.

In Division 2, Monday Minors fell to ABCDE FC 3-6, while Mcgeezers managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Diabetico Madrid. Large Lunch FC also started their campaign on a high note by defeating Getafe Mason 2-0.

As the season has just begun, the league tables are yet to take shape, but early days show promise. The top scorers for each division were rehearsing their goal celebrations emphatically, from Talwin FC in Premier League, Almirons Army in Division 1, and ABCDE FC in Division 2.
