MATCH NIGHT REPORT - ROUND 2

Tonight saw the 2nd round of fixtures since our return!

We started the night with Monico v Expected Toulouse. Expected we’re looking to bounce back from a rough start last week whereas Monico were looking to add to their momentum of the first win. Both sides were an even match throughout but Toulouse were absolutely clinical with their counter attacks and scored an amazing 8 goals whilst Ben in goal made some very important saves. 8-3 victory sees them pick up their first points of the season.

Also at 7 we had Inter Mivan take on Balotellitubbies. Inter were looking to add to last weeks result in their hunt for the title whereas Balo were also looking for 2 from 2. But tonight was Inter’s night as they took this one 6-2 with the goals shared throughout the team. A real team performance and again Inter showing why their considered as one of the favourites this season.

Then at 7:40 we had Johnsons FC v Biffta. Both were looking to bounce back from defeat on the opening night. Strong starts from either side saw the game 1-0 at HT to Johnsons. But a brilliant 2nd half with attacking flair saw Johnsons grab onto their first win 5-2. Tough result for Biffta who played well but were continuously caught on the counter.

Also at 7:40 we had Panashington v Benfleet. Contrasting starts for either side last week so this looked to be an interesting match up. Despite Benfleet’s strong side tonight they were unable to match a very solid looking Panashingdon who breezed through this one with a 4-0 victory. The new boys are looking like a force to be reckoned with.

Then at 8:20 we had Neil FC v Coming Home. Neil looking to secure their 5th consecutive title and Coming Home were looking to improve on last weeks result. Harry Herbert simply stole the show tonight. Another hat trick and a routine 6-0 victory sees Neil leapfrog Inter to take top spot.

Our last game saw Range Rovers take on Show me the Mane. Both sides play a similar style and this was always going to be a close game. A quick start for Mane looked like they would take control but Rovers continued to bounce back throughout. But a touch of class near the end from Mane sees the grab their first victory of the season and a huge morale booster. 3-2 the end result in what was a very tight affair.

Another great night with all 12 teams in action. Please remember we are not here next week due to the 4G having maintenance so we will see you all back at Waterside on the 20th August!
