It was a good evening's football in the Durham Sunday 6 a side league this week overall. We were however disappointed to see a second consecutive failure to attend from Whippy Warriors who've now been removed from the league and replaced by new team Regis Rejects who we wish good luck on Sunday 26th April!
In the Premier League, the Moors continued their dominance with a glorious 5-2 victory over Pambos Pool Party. The team showcased their lethal attacking prowess, with their strikers hitting the back of the net five times. On the other hand, Willo Wizards handed Lowhills a resounding defeat, dismantling them 6-0 in a performance that was nothing short of magical.
VFL Spenny, however, didn't fare well, losing to Morans Army 0-3. The Army seemed well prepared with a tactical approach that left the Spenny side helpless. In a similar vein, the Australian Government, who've shown steady improvement this season, scored a convincing 6-0 victory against HOGS.
As the action moved to Division 1, Barely Legal fell to Spenny Ultras 0-3. Despite their struggles, Barely Legal showed promise and are sure to bounce back in the coming weeks. The surprise of the day was Unathletico Madrid suffering a crushing defeat against Man-Chest-Hair-United, who put eight past them while only conceding one.
In a closely contested match, Exeter Gently FC eked out a 2-1 win over Willy Wacker Wanderers. However, the highlight of Division 1 was undoubtedly Millfield Mafia's 9-2 demolition of Different Gravy.
The top scorers for the Premier League were from The Moors and Willo Wizards, while in Division 1, Man-Chest-Hair United and Millfield Mafia stole the show with their high-scoring games.
Good luck to all teams going into game week 14 of the campaign with Durham's premier providers of small sided football!
