News Update - Sunday League

Following the cancellation of the Thursday League this week because of the epic snowfall in Weston, the weather gods bought some rain, which cleared the pitches for Match week 7 of the Sunday League.

We have reached the halfway point of the Season and there is still all to play for!

Premier League

League Leaders Groggy Season had their points match this week and remain in the top spot.  Their closest rivals in the previous season, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, also claimed a points match win, as The Squirells were away, condemning one of their men to marriage.

Elsewhere there were no winners, Nuts and Tekker drew 0-0 along with Murder on Zidanes Floor and Wookworks drawing 1-1.  No-one could break the deadlock in either of these well fought battles.

Division 1

Academicals remain on their march for glory, sitting at the top on goal difference, as they wracked up another win, all be it a points match, following the removal of Seahiktas from the league.

Nuts United B, sitting just behind the leaders, equal on points, took a 3-0 win over AFC Dry Lunch, even without Captain Toby, who was at home nursing a hangover!

Net Six and Chill took to the pitch to face a determined Expected Toulouse who were looking for points in the division after promotion last season.  It wasn't to be for Toulouse as they went down 4-2.

Chamakh returned to face West Ham Egg n Chips.  Chamakh also looking to build on some recent good performances. This, they did as they pipped West Ham 2-1 at the final whistle.

Division 2

New Team Virgins FC arrived at Worle looking to get their Leisure Leagues career into action.  They faced a tough opening fixture, against recently promoted and in form Bayer Neverlusen.  They were welcomed with a 7-2 defeat.  We say this every time though, this is a team to watch.... new teams to the League, often take a couple of fixtures to settle in.

No Cabbages went head to head with Tomato Town, but it was No Cabbages who went to town tonight, smashing 10 between the sticks without reply!

Chancers, the ever passionate team, faced League Leaders 99 Problems, in a game that was billed to be an epic clash of the titans.  It played out just that way, with a tightly contested match of two halves.  In the end it was Chancers who slayed the giant, with a 2-1 victory.

Division 3

Benteke Fried Chicken continue their march for the title, as they took a 4-1 win over Weston Warriors.

Ninja Skrtels also looked to put an assault on the top spot, as they banged home 8 against Where are all the Wags!! without response. They sit second on the ladder, with only goal difference keeping Jewventus at bay.

Jewventus however, are keeping pace with Skrtels, as they too smashed home 8 without reply from Chicken Tikka Mo-Salah.

Finally, Lets be Havin You fired 3 over Hamstrung, who, couldn't break the tight defence and bag any for themselves, so, a 3-0 win for Lets be Havin You.

Despite the rainy spells last night, it was yet another great night of football.  We look forward to how this season is going to pan out!
