W-S-M Sunday League News Update

It was yet another chilly night in Weston, and we thank all the teams for coming along and playing out their fixtures in the near Baltic conditions.

Premier League

Last seasons champions Tekker Slovakia, anchored to the bottom of the table, chalked up their first win of the season last night with a 3-0 win over Woodworks. Could this signal the the start of a run for the title?

Current league leaders The Squirells continued their run of success in the Premier League taking Nuts down 3-1.  They are yet to lose, if they keep their pace, they are surely a contender for the Silverware?

Last season saw a tight contest between The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Groggy Season for the runner up position, and their first match of this season was no different.  A well fought contest throughout, but, Groggy held it together and took a well earned 3-1 win.

Division 1

Chamakh My Pitch Up returned this week, looking for a better night than last week, and got their reward, edging a 2-1 win over Net Six and Chill.

Academicals were looking to keep up their winning streak as newcomers to Division 1.  It was looking a bleak prospect, with them trailing 1-0 at the break.  It's a game of two halves however and they came back from the break firing on all cylinders and put 5 past AFC Dry Lunch without response.  So, they go 3 for 3 with this 5-1 win!

Nuts United B had a better run out in Division 1, with a 5-1 win over West Ham Egg N Chips.

Newcomers Seshiktas arrived for their first match and went head to head with last seasons Division 2 winners Expected Toulouse.  In another tightly contested match, Expected Toulouse edged the game 1-0.

Division 2

Only two real games in the Division with Apollo Creed cancelling late in the piece, handing No Cabbages a points match win.

Chancers and Ivory Toast went head to head.  Ivory Toast returning from a week off. It was an epic battle on the field with both teams pushing to find a way through with the end result was a 2-2 draw, and Chancers get some points on the board.

Bayer Neverlusen and Real Lee Sheet was the other game of the night, with Neverlusen bagging a brace without response, and chalk up another win. They are sitting 3rd in the table.

Division 3

Benteke Fried Chicken continue their winning run and the top spot on the table with a 3-1 win over Lets Be Havin' You.

Ninja Skrtels claim second spot, with a 3-1 win over Weston Warriors.

Jewventus slotted 5 past Hamstrung, with the experienced Hamstrung team  only managing to place 2 between the sticks.

There is all to play for in this division!

All in all, another great night of Football @Worle, and we look forward to next week.
