Monday 13th February - Worthing Round-Up

It was a good start to the new season in the Worthing Monday 6 a side league this week as all 32 teams attended their fixtures for opening night, and some excellent matches were played across all four divisions!

Champions Worthing Rovers kicked off their title defence with a 5-3 victory over Hussars FC in a hotly competed encounter which was end to end.  MK's Dons also grabbed a fanastic victory against Vapors in a nine goal thriller in which they ran out 5-4 winners.  The Seaview Sluts look to be a good addition to the division and they shared a point apiece with Packet Inn with the game ending 1-1, whilst the other promoted team PandH FC claimed a 4-4 draw off Dad Bods in another thrilling encounter.

Bowen Balcony FC flew out of the blocks with a fine 6-2 victory against Wellington Dukes, whilst Pukki 22 B were 5-2 winners against Guildbourne Gobblers in another clinical performance in front of goal.  LA Dairy Milk will be looking to improve upon their fourth placed finish last season, and a 4-1 win over JCI FC was the perfect way to set the ball rolling, whilst the action was completed by Toms Toys FC and Arseanal who shared a point each in a ten goal thriller which ended 5-5.

Division Two new boys Inter Row Z beat another new addition to the league as they were 6-2 victors over Leave It FC.  Another new addition was Tarring FC who may have lost but showed some signs of encouragement and something to build on moving forwards, they were beaten 3-1 at the hands of Neville Wears Prada.  Elsewhere there were 4-1 wins for Cream of the South and FC Boca Seniors who saw off the challenge of Golden Arch It and Swaztekka respectively.

Craigy's At The Wheel in Division Three will be looking to have a good run at this season, and started off with a fine 8-1 victory against We Are Going Toulouse, showing fantastic finishing ability.  Bayernmunchies were another impressive looking outfit on opening day as they were 5-2 victors against Petr Cech Yourself, whilst Havana Club and Lads on Toure claimed 4-2 victories against 3 For 100 and Disunited respectively.

We thank all of our teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and wish all good luck going into game week 2 with Worthing's premier providers of small sided football!
