Monday 17th January - Worthing Round-Up

It was a good evening's football once again in the Worthing Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, barring Partey Time who had given 7 days notice and return to action on Monday 24th January.

Guilty Sigurdsson have played out their 2 week withdrawal notice in Division One, and have now withdrawn from the league.  We are pleased however to welcome new Studs FC to the league as their replacement, and wish these good luck going into their first fixture with us on Monday 24th January.

FC Big Wangs lead at the top of the Premier Division extended this week after they won the battle of the top two, they were 4-0 winners over Vapors who now drop to third place, Sevilla Autism moving into the top two after they ran out 5-1 victors over The Dad Bods.  Last season's champions MK's Dons are atoning for their slow start to the season having won their second game in a row this week, their 3-1 win over Pen15 Club sees them occupy fourth spot.  Hussars and Packet Inn played out an eight goal thriller to round off the night, ending all square at 4 goals a piece.

Borussia Munchonflapjack moved into an outright lead in Division One this week as they went two points clear, this as they beat third placed All The Gear No Idea 5-3 in a big game, whilst second placed Selden Park Rangers came out losers in a thrilling game against Bodli FC by a 7-6 score line!  The outgoing Guilty Sigurdsson signed off their stay in the league in style, as they were 9-7 winners over Jen Dog FC.

Wet Ass Pukki's strong grip on the summit of Division Two extended further this week, they now sit five points clear of second place, they were 6-2 winners over LA Dairy Milk, whilst Pukki 22 lost further ground having suffered a 7-4 loss to second bottom Suzanne's Toy Boys in a shock result!  Third placed Murder on Zidane's Floor also suffered defeat in a great night for the league leaders, Worthing Rovers triumphant over them in another entertaining game, 5-4 the score at the full time whistle.  Another game littered with goals saw Arseanal record a 7-4 victory over Havana Club, an incredible 37 goals scored in the four games in the division.

Division Three leaders Cream of the South's lead was cut to a single point this week, as they suffered a heavy 7-2 defeat at the hands of Jimmy Floyd Hasslehoff, which sees their lead cut to a single point as Not So Athletic took full advantage with an 8-4 victory over Expected Toulouse.  Bowen Balcony also won their match against Unathletico Madrid 5-3 as they try and keep the pace for a late promotion push.  Disunited moved themselves out of the bottom two as they ran out 4-0 winners over bottom of the table BayernMunchies to complete the action.
